Park City BJJ Academy Rules & Etiquette

  • If you (the student) or your child is sick, please stay home and rest. Training can wait until you’re healthy.
  • Treat everyone with respect, and the same will be done to you.
  • Be friendly and introduce yourself to all new students. Remember how you felt on your first day in a new academy.
  • Everyone here is family, be careful and use control with your training partner. Don’t hurt your training partner.
  • Please ask permission before video recording or taking pictures.
  • Help keep our bathrooms and studio clean at all times.
  • Please bring a water bottle for you or your child.
  • Please make sure you take your belongings from the cubbies. If you bring it in, bring it out (water bottles, shoes, towels, mouth guards, etc…)
  • Please show up to class on time.
  • Use footwear when going outside or to the bathroom.
  • Wash your hands after using the bathroom.
  • All clothes, shoes, gym bags, etc. must be placed in or on cubbies.
  • Training in Jiu-Jitsu involves close personal contact. Please be sure your GI, Shorts, Rash Guard, & Training Gear are clean, free of foul odors, & in good condition for every class. Be aware of your personal hygiene. Make sure that your fingernails & toenails are properly trimmed, and your hair (if long) is pulled back & secured. Remove any watches, rings, or jewelry before training. If you have any type of skin infection (staph, ringworm, etc.) you will not be allowed to train until it is cleared up. These bacterial & fungal infections are highly contagious and can quickly spread throughout the entire class. If you suspect you may have an infectious skin condition or are not sure, ask an instructor.
  • Women, please wear compression shorts or yoga pants under your gi.
  • Parents, please refrain from commenting or coaching kids during the class. Let the coaches do their jobs!
  • Help new students with what you know. There is nothing to prove on the mats.
  • Check your attitude/ego when you walk through the door.
  • There is no supervision provided for children not in classes. If you bring them they must be watched and are NOT allowed to play on any of the gym equipment. They must be quiet and not make noise while class is being taught.
  • Kids must ask permission to enter or exit the mat
  • Please have your child go to the bathroom BEFORE class.
  • Everyone is on auto-pay and must give 30 days written notice (via email) to cancel membership.
